OC :: Raissa

It's a very detailed and rich world background for and RP group, opening Beta phase, and I know I said I am done (SO done) with RP groups but... I can't not try this one sorry guys. 

History:
Born as the eldest child to a farming family, she learned how to be responsible since she was young. The boys were sent to the field while the girls studied how to manage money and the whole business, and she was good at what she was doing. Not soon after she was born, her siblings were also born, so she never got enough parental love and it made her really lonely, but also shaped the independent woman she was right now.

Her dislike towards men began with her father. He was an awkward man around people especially his children after his wife died of childbirth. It was when Raissa was 10. She could have received help from aunts or neighbors, but instead she took care of Aehar, the surviving youngest son in the family, all on her own. Determined to be a mother figure for all her eight siblings, especially Aehar, she learned how to be strong and waking up her nurturing nature ever since young, abandoning her childhood in the process. She never think twice if she lost something then. To have more time to her own, she learned how to be a merchant, selling the crops of her family's land for the best price in the morning market, so that she could take care of her siblings from early noon. She taught them to speak, count, and dance as best as she could. 

Meanwhile, never once her father asked her wellbeing. 

Aehar turned out sickly and too weak to go to the field like his older brothers did, so Raissa taught him things that normally girls would learn. Soon enough, he took the hobby of crochetting and clothes-making, the skills he honed so well that right now, clothes are among things that Raissa sold as a merchant.

After all the sons could go out and the second daughter, Meirra, grew old enough to take care of everyone including Aehar, Raissa began taking longer trips to other villages and making business deals with farmers there. She was often being seen as greedy by those around her-- people don't normally sell things for profit in Aldebaran. But she stood strong because of the number of mouths she had to feed and the determination to make them get the best they could in life even without a mother (and the lack of father's care). Her charming and humble personality also helped making people get sympathetic sooner or later. 

The third child, who is the eldest son, is already married. The rest are well-versed in plants, most following their fathers to be a farmer in the field, but one likes herbs more. He was very happy when Raissa finally saved enough money to build an exclusive apothecary garden for him, with rare plants from other cities. Of course there is also the youngest son Aehar, who prefers to work with clothings. 

There are only three girls in the family, and the youngest works with the nobles. She teaches Raissa the feminine ways sometimes. The other one, Meirra, is very dependable to take care of the house, even better than Raissa could ever be. There's a talk that Meirra would soon ask someone to brew her tea, and Raissa told her not to feel bad for getting married first as the second daughter. 

Right now Raissa is a travelling merchant with partners from Mintaka to Ta'am, as well as future plans to enter the market in Sargas. (She doesn't like Mesarthim too much.) There's no doubt that as a girl she will be seen as an oddity in Sargas market where women are mostly kept at home, so she's been practising in self-defense lately. (She's bad at close-distance fights though.)
